This comic is exactly what I was looking for. Peter King has singled out Muslims, and has made it his goal to make them an enemy, mostly for his own political gain.  It is argued that these hearings have no goal other than to help gain media attention for his re-election. There is little to no fact behind the statements of his hearings, and most of what was stated on the floor was simply speculation. The hearings  help in order to foster hate, and fear here in the united states. This comic does a great job of bringing to light the inappropriateness of such a campaign. McCarthy was seen as a fear monger, and critics of King argue that he is no different.

This is another example of Peter King making Muslims out to be monsters. Of the Muslim religion the vast majority of its followers are not terrorists, and deserve the same basic human rights that are allocated to the rest of the United States population. It is hard to believe that this kind of racism is still alive and well within our nation but the fact that Peter King was allowed to take floor time in order to make this an issue is evidence that hate comes in all forms. Thanks to comics like this, the statements of King do not go unanswered and are not allowed to have nearly the run away effect that McCarthy had.

Title of Cartoon: Peter Kings Muslim Hearings 

Peter King has taken and singled out Muslims, which has a very negative effect on the way the rest of the nation sees these people. Media is not immune to the propaganda published by King; for instance even the Norway incident was immediately placed on Muslims, and it wasn’t until later, that reporters started posting retractions which stated that the incident had nothing to do with Muslims. The very same thing could happen here in the U.S.. There are a litany of other threats out there that are being completely ignored. There are still neo-nazi’s in activity, and other extremist groups which are completely capable of the same kinds of terror. It is the responsibility of King to look into all of these issues, not blind himself to one issue. His tactic for homeland security is both lazy and offensive.
